N2  -   The objectives are to determine the propostion of social services resources allocated to the female population and to assess the equity in the distribution of such resources. Describes the status of women in Saint Lucia by examining their legal rights and their participation in the labour force, in export-oriented industries, in the public services as well as their comparative incomes. Allocations in terms of education, scholarships and awards, health and welfare services, daycare and special education are discussed. Includes a brief description of services offered exclusively for women and the establishment of a Women's Desk. It is noted that while women in St. Lucia have traditionally participated in every aspect of the society, no effort to provide any reliable information on the contribution of women had been made
