The characteristics of, as simplified, low cost, low labour biogas installation are described. This installation can be part of a complete chain for agronomic use of slurries with low solid content. It consists of a floating cover put on the surface of a lagoon in order to collect the biogas produced and odours coming from anaerobic digestion. The pay-back time (PBT) of the capital invested can vary between 2 and 4 years (depending on the material chosen for the cover) and the IRR is more than 23 percent. That means that there are no obstacles to the introduction of this solution in farms where lagoons already exist.
