The harvesting of bananas using field dehanding and plastic field boxes is examined. Instructions are given on the different types of activity which may be carried out at each stage of the harvesting operation: dehanding the bunch, minimizing the incidence of latex stain on field dehanded fruit, living the plastic field boxes and packing of fruit. The importance of using the proper procedure at each stage is discussed.
