This project was being undertaken with support of the UNESCO with funds in trust from the Italian government, in collaboration with Dominica, St Lucia and St. Kitts National commission for UNESCO and complied by Anne Lewis and Daryl Phillip. The project focuses on revitalization traditional masquerade, performing arts, and costume making in Dominica, aiming to transform them into sustainable tourism product. It explores the historical and cultural significance of these art forms, examining how they can attract tourist and contribute to economic growth while preserving Dominica's heritage. The project provides a framework for developing tourism products like festivals and workshop, emphasizing community involvement and capacity building. |
