Summary, etc. This paper gives indepth information on the 1991 Common Entrance Examination, the data, the number of schools which participated and the number of centres used. Mr. Rupert Lance, Curriculum officer for the Ministry of Education, chaired the preparation of the exam. The examination comprised of papers in Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and social studies. Students experienced difficulty particularly in Language Arts papers. Difficulties encountered were spelling, capitalization, composition structure. There were also problems with the focus on topics. Students strayed from topics. Many wrote on topics not given. Schools should work to improve each of these areas particularly to encourage students to write, thus improving the composition level.
