Geological appraisal of the Pumice resources of Dominica, Lesser Antilles

References made to previous reports on pumice deposits by Eckel (1960), Bergey (1964), Dawson (1966) and Mineral Resources Division of Overseas Geological Surveys (1962). Location and general nature of pumice deposits are given. The conclusions show that all major deposits are accessible to transport and open pit mining while the best deposits are located in Roseau and Rosalie. Recommendations include the consideration of a pozzolan cement industry and the possibility of pumic use as an additive to Portland Cement.
